MUSIC TYPE-SETTING The aim of Palmonics is to create a score (and parts) to a high standard, from manuscript supplied by the client. A draft printout of the score is given to the client for approval and comments. If changes are required we will carry out the alterations and reprint the relevant pages. Once the client is satisfied with the music and layout, we will produce the final score, and if required the parts will be printed and a computer version of the music recorded. It is in the interest of our clients to produce a manuscript that is as clear as possible. We will quote for the client's type-setting in advance where possible, but many changes to the score may incur extra charges. Clients should ensure that they own copyright of the music, or have permission to use it. We reserve the right to refuse to type-set any music that we believe is copyrighted to some-one else. Note that our current printing process uses non-permanent ink. It is the responsibility of the client to keep the printed score and parts dry and out of direct sunlight. COMPOSITIONS Commissions for new compositions may be accepted by Palmonics. The client is responsible for giving a good description of their requirements. Following a discussion with the client regarding the type of piece required, it's length and the instruments, a quote may be given. Note that the music will be in the style of the composer, although written with the client's specifications in mind, for a special purpose or event. PRICING Pricing details are given in the Palmonics Music Services Price Guide. PAYMENT FOR MUSIC TYPE-SETTING Payment is required once the music (draft printout) has been approved by the client. Invoices must be paid within 28 days. Once the payment is received the final score (and parts and recording) will then be sent to the client. Interest may be charged on unpaid invoices. PAYMENT FOR COMPOSITIONS Part payment is required once the music has been written. Invoices must be paid within 28 days. Once the payment is received we send a version of the new composition to the client for approval and comments. Minor changes may be possible before completion. The balance is then required before sending the final version (if different to the original version). Again invoices must be paid within 28 days. Interest may be charged on unpaid invoices. Copyright of the new composition will belong to the composer. Once payment is received in full, the client will be licensed to use the new composition for the next 6 months. HOURS OF BUSINESS AND CONTACTING US Our normal hours of business are from 9am to 6pm Tuesday to Friday. E-mail messages are normally checked daily.
